HISTORY
empirical was founded in 1997 by Tony Worsdall to enable public and private sector organisations to become fully aware of the benefits and opportunities provided by the innovative use of technology to deliver business process improvement and service transformation.
The cornerstone of every solution has always been people. Recognising this empirical seeks to involve, engage and inspire people by taking them through an experience where they learn to challenge limiting assumptions and develop the skills and confidence to thrive through change
The philosophy at empirical is to use technology to support a solution rather than as an end in itself. Although technology often underpins a transformation, the primary focus remains people. And this is what sets empirical apart.
Over the last 11 years, empirical has worked with a wide range of public sector clients, including central and local government and sector skills councils, as well as private sector companies and non profit making organisations. As a result, it now has an enviable reputation for delivering innovative solutions to complex problems against challenging timescales and tight budgets. empirical has delivered the whole range of performance improvements programmes from business process mapping and reengineering to organisational transformation and corporate culture change.
Recent work has included:
- Developing and managing a pan Berkshire project to engage hard to reach communities and train over 160 people to use IT for the first time. Working with all 6 Unitary Authorities in Berkshire over £90,000 of funding from the Transformation Fund has been brought into the communities of Berkshire and an innovative outreach programme delivered by the Berkshire Digital Learning Champions. “Having successfully used technology to enable my own teams to deliver initiatives and meet the ever growing requirement to deliver more for less, I am passionate about finding ways to engage everyone, regardless of their existing skills or confidence, with the opportunities that technological innovation provides.” Tony Worsdall, Managing Director.
